Notifications

CueWee can tell you when something happens while the app is closed: your song is ready, a bandmate joined, a payment failed. Processing takes a few minutes, so you can upload a song, leave the app, and come back when your phone buzzes.

Notifications arrive with the next app version. Until then, the settings and prompts described here do not show up yet.

Where they work

  • The iPhone and Android apps.
  • The web, in browsers that support notifications, such as Chrome, Edge, and Firefox.
  • Not in the desktop app. It has no notifications, and the Notifications card is hidden there.
  • Not in the browser on iPhone. If you use CueWee on an iPhone, use the iOS app.

Turn them on

The first time you upload a song, CueWee asks Notify you when it's ready?

  • Choose Notify me, then allow notifications when your device asks.
  • Choose Not now and CueWee does not ask again from the upload screen.

You can also turn them on later. Open Preferences and find the Notifications card. If notifications are off for this device, tap Turn on notifications.

If you said no to your device or browser, it will not ask a second time. The Notifications card then shows a note that they are blocked. Turn them on in your device or browser settings, then come back to Preferences.

Choose what you get

The Notifications card has three switches. They are saved on your account, so they apply to every device you are signed in on. All three start on.

Songs and storage

  • Your song finished processing, or it failed.
  • Your lyrics are ready.
  • Your storage is full and queued songs were cancelled. The notification says how many.

People and Backstage

  • Someone joined your song or setlist.
  • In a shared song, a new Backstage chat message, comment, or reply.
  • Someone mentioned you.

Each song keeps a single Backstage notification, updated with the newest message and how many new ones arrived, like "Blackbird (3 new messages)". To keep a busy chat from buzzing your phone all day, it rings once, then updates quietly, and rings again after 2 minutes without a ring. Every song has its own notification, so a message on another song rings right away. Mentions always ring. See Comments and chat.

Account

  • A payment failed.
  • Your plan ended.

When you are already looking at the song

If you have a song open on one device, that device stays quiet about that song: no notification for it being ready, and none for new Backstage messages on it.

The same goes for your other devices. While you are watching a song that is still processing, or you have its Backstage panel open and you are using the app, none of your devices notifies you about that song. If you stop touching the screen for 3 minutes, or you switch to another app, CueWee treats you as away and the notifications come back. Other songs and other kinds of notification are not affected.

Notification language

Notifications come in the language of your account, English, Español, or Português (Brasil).
