CueWee: Fair Use Policy

All members are subject to this Fair Use Policy. It works alongside our Terms of Service and explains what counts as normal, reasonable use of CueWee.

1. Scope

This policy applies to all use of CueWee, including song processing (stem separation), the click track, voice guide, and chord detection generated automatically for each song, and stem extension.

You acknowledge and agree that we may set limits on the length, file size, and number of media files you can upload and process. We may change these limits at any time, at our sole discretion. When a change materially reduces what your existing subscription can do, we will tell you in advance and it takes effect in your next cycle. Paid plans have higher limits than the free trial.

The storage included with each plan is a separate limit from this policy, with published amounts in Plans & Usage.

2. Normal, reasonable personal use

CueWee is intended for normal, reasonable personal use. Some features are offered without a per item charge, so you never count songs against a balance. They are still for your personal use and remain subject to this policy, including the capacity protections in section 5.

Normal, reasonable personal use does not include bulk processing or commercial use. For example, it does not cover operating a business that processes an abnormally high number of files compared to a typical personal user (whether or not you charge fees for it), or the bulk generation of stems to be distributed as loops or samples, individually or in packs.

3. How we evaluate usage

We evaluate your usage in comparison to the typical usage of other CueWee members. Based on that comparison, we may determine that usage is abnormal or unreasonable when it is far above what a typical member does.

We understand that your use may be irregular, with busy periods where you process many songs and quiet periods where you process none. In this comparison we review your use over time rather than from a single day. The capacity protections in section 5 work differently: they are automatic and do not depend on this review.

4. Excess usage

If your average monthly usage for a given CueWee feature falls within the top five percent (5%) of usage across all members for that feature in a calendar month, we reserve the right to apply limits to your usage.

Before applying a limit specific to your account, or suspending it, we will use commercially reasonable efforts to (a) contact you in writing about the excess usage and (b) work with you to resolve whatever is causing it. This covers the measures we take about your account, after reviewing it.

It does not cover the capacity protections in section 5, which are automatic, apply to every account equally, and do not depend on any review of your account.

5. Capacity protections

Everyone shares the same processing capacity. So that no single account takes a disproportionate share of it, CueWee controls how fast new work can start, how much one account can process in a short period, how much it can process in a month, and how many songs it can have waiting at once.

The monthly ceiling is the outermost of those controls. It is a technical safeguard, not a plan allowance: it is set far above what normal, personal use reaches, so that a single account feeding a large catalogue through cannot overload the servers and slow processing down for everyone else. It applies per account, it resets at the start of each calendar month, and almost no member ever meets it. We keep working to expand processing capacity, and as it grows the ceiling can rise with it.

These protections are automatic, they apply to every account equally, and they are not a judgement about your usage, so no advance notice is given for them. They are also not a quota: nothing is deducted from a balance and nothing runs out.

When you reach one, the app tells you, and it clears on its own. Wait for the songs you already started to finish, or wait a little before starting new ones. If you need to process a large batch at once, get in touch at contact@cuewee.app and we will work out the best way.

These limits are published rather than hidden, so you always know what they are before you meet one:

• Monthly processing: up to 200 songs on Starter and 500 on Pro. See Plans & Usage.
• Pace, not total: you can start up to 100 songs an hour. This is not a cap on how much you can process, only on how quickly songs can start, so a large batch spreads out instead of being turned away. It clears within the hour.
• Waiting at the same time: up to 20 songs. It does not limit how much you process overall, only how much can sit in the queue at once, and it clears as your songs finish.

The refusal message itself does not repeat the number, because the moment you are stopped is not a useful moment to be handed a figure. The numbers live here and on the plans page, where you can read them at any time.

6. Per account and shared access

This policy applies per account. If your plan lets you share access with other people, the policy applies to the account as a whole, not to each person individually.

7. Enforcement

If usage is abnormal or unreasonable, or if this policy is violated, we may apply usage limits, suspend the account, or terminate it, consistent with our Terms of Service. Where the measure is specific to your account, we will reach out before taking it whenever practical.

8. Changes and contact
